How is the logistics industry of India transitioning from manual to digital processes?
While some players in the logistics industry have technology at the heart of their strategy, the industry has largely been operating on manual processes up until a few years ago. However, we are seeing an increase in the adoption of technology, accelerated by the onset of the pandemic. While 2020 saw businesses racing to realign their strategies and alter their work model, 2021 witnessed several technological innovations being implemented for smooth functioning of the logistical processes. In the backdrop of the global pandemic, the Indian logistics and supply chain sector has evolved from being a support sector to a high impact sector. It is now ready to take a giant leap in the coming years.
Which sector(s) does Shipyaari focus on?
Shipyaari is an emerging leader in end-to-end logistics management Solutions. We offer an array of responsive and efficient planning and supply chain management services. We use various delivery methods, and have a single window system wherein all courier companies can offer various options to clients as per their requirements. Shipyaari is majorly involved in E-commerce Logistics which is currently booming. We also give solutions to e-commerce back-end processes for online sellers as an extended service.
What is the user-base and strength of the company?
We have tied-up with many warehousing and fulfilment partners across India and will expand our network in Tier 2 & 3 cities so that our customers can sell their brands in these emerging markets. We have various service partners pan India to help us serve our current 20,000+ users and reach 28,000+ pin codes in India and 210 countries. Our Strategic Fulfilment Centres provide same day or next day delivery across the globe. Our courier services include documents, parcels, cargo, part/full trucks, air cargo, and sea containers. We plan to expand our market presence significantly by the year-end.
What we see as our strengths is our efficient operations for fast deliveries. Our services are more affordable. Our API is user-friendly for everyone’s use; it is trustworthy and quick. As a reliable partner, our team continuously monitors activities to ensure timely deliveries.
What challenges do you face and how do you resolve them?
The logistics industry is the backbone of any sector or industry’s supply chain. Be it healthcare, hospitality or manufacturing industries, logistic companies are connecting organizations with their clients, seamlessly and efficiently. However, there are challenges like government policies and bottlenecks, the increasing fuel cost, competition from global players, lack of skilled labour, and shipping issues at ports.
To overcome these challenges, we are applying digitalisation to increase workflow efficiency. In fact, there are many activities that can be performed in a better way with less manual intervention. What’s more, automated tasks are easy to trace and resolve, which leads to higher operational efficiency.
