COBO INDIA
COBO's global reach brings awareness of various regulatory requirements for different applications and markets well in advance. Developed economies have already implemented stringent emissions and safety norms. Such norms are typically adopted or harmonized by developing economies so COBO Group can bring competence, experience and references in this area as well.

How does COBO ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability in its components like electromechanical, mechanical, electronic systems, instrument clusters, connectivity, and power electronics?
COBO, in its 75 years of history, has always been working with the off-highway machinery industry on a global scale, so its high quality components in the machines enable them to work efficiently even in harsh environments.
The company takes a multi-faceted approach that includes rigorous design and development, supplier and in-house quality management, stringent manufacturing process and control, quality testing and validation, continuous improvements, and feedback loops.
With evolving regulatory requirements in the construction and material handling sectors, how does COBO stay ahead of compliance issues?
The global reach of COBO brings awareness of various regulatory requirements for different applications and markets well in advance. Developed economies have already implemented more stringent norms in terms of emissions as well as safety. Since such norms are typically adopted or harmonized by developing economies, the COBO Group can bring its competence, experience, and references in this area very efficiently.
How are COBO’s connectivity solutions enhancing equipment performance and how is the company preparing for the growing demand for autonomous equipment, artificial intelligence, and machine learning?
The COBO Group, has over 10 years ago, created a dedicated division to handle the development of its in-house telematics platform which is now in full service and is operating on a global scale, thanks to the collaboration with key players in the server and data management areas.
Unlike many players in telematics, who are collecting data from machines and sending them to the “cloud” (mono-directional communication), the COBO Group is using its telematics platform as an “accessory” to send the data to the cloud as well as writing the data (bi-directional communication) to the machines electronic units such as controllers and display and update software with “OTA” (over the air) function.
The COBO Group is offering a global system solution where a couple of sensors are connected to electronic control units and displays of various sizes to bring artificial intelligence to the machine for its safety and critical operations. Evolving in this area further, the Group has an advance engineering group that is tirelessly working to bring autonomous features to various equipment in the years to come.
How is COBO meeting the diverse needs of construction equipment manufacturers, while ensuring compatibility, performance, and reliability across applications?
COBO has always been operating in the mobile machinery industry which is very different from the automotive industry. Most of its hardware solutions are general purpose and designed as well as manufactured to operate in different geographies and in different industries of the mobile machineries. Each product and solution is designed considering factors like comfort, safety, performance, and relaibility.
How does COBO incorporate feedback from equipment manufacturers and end-users into its product development process?
The COBO Group is in constant touch with customers at various levels to collect their feedback. One such instance that I can personally quote is when we took a lot of feedback from our customers in India on a solution when migration happened from BSIII to BIV emission norms.
Accordingly, the COBO Group invested in Italy to bring another value-added solution that could cover all the shortcomings of the previous generation solution. The new solution now is very well appreciated in India for the BSV migration starting in Jan 2025.
With the increasing adoption of electric and hybrid construction equipment, how is COBO adapting its components to support them and what new technologies or aggregates is the company developing to address this shift?
There are a lot of technology disruptions happening all around the world when it comes to alternate fuels to pave the way to zero emissions. We have a lot of success stories evolving from the automotive industry and there is no doubt that the CE industry across the world has to move in the same direction. Many companies are already working in the area of electrification of construction equipment.
As a responsible and technology player in the industry, the COBO Group is evolving with its Power Electronic product line, offering various solutions like Electric Motor Controllers, DC-DC Converters, and the Electronic Foot Throttle to contribute towards a more eco-friendly environment.
