GMDA to Take Over 3 Underpasses on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is considering taking over three underpasses located on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, following a request from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The decision comes after NHAI approached GMDA to assume possession of the underpasses, prompting GMDA to assess their condition. Several faults were identified during the assessment, including cracks on walls and seepage. GMDA has requested NHAI to rectify these issues before the handover process begins.

NHAI has been urging GMDA to assume maintenance responsibility for the underpasses at Iffco Chowk, Signature Tower, and Rajiv Chowk over the past year. However, GMDA was hesitant due to structural deficiencies. NHAI subsequently sought directions from the state government.
