Rs 29 Cr PMGSY Road Project to Connect Border Areas in Rajouri

Road-Projects
A 13 km road project under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is underway in Doongi block of Rajouri district at an estimated cost of Rs 29 crore, aimed at improving connectivity in remote border areas.

The project in Panchayat Challas will link key blocks including Doongi, Qila Darhal and Nowshera, providing a direct route and reducing dependence on the existing 60 km defence road via Peer Badasar. The new alignment is expected to significantly cut travel distance and ensure smoother movement for residents.

The road will improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education and markets, while boosting local development and connectivity across border panchayats in the region.
