highway projects
In an official statement the AP government informed that survey and investigation work for the 2,000-km long Arunachal Frontier Highway along the India-China border has been completed and construction is set to start soon. Deputy CM Chowna Mein said that the frontier highway will connect the border areas from Vijaynagar in Changlang district (in the east end) to Mago-Thingbu in Tawang district (in the west end). The East-West Industrial Corridor along the foothills of the state will also be constructed. Stressing the potential of tourism to boost the state's economy, he said connectivity to remote and far-flung areas is important, and urged the people to create an atmosphere congenial to developing the industry and making the state investment-friendly. The short-term and long-term plans have been prepared under the cabinet committee for robust infrastructure development, upgrade roads, and bring road connectivity to all ADC and SDO headquarters across the state.
