GAIL Signs Pact with TUSCO for 600 MW Solar Project with BESS in Uttar Pradesh

GAIL (India) Limited has signed contract agreements with TUSCO to develop a 600 MW solar power project at a solar park in Jhansi.

The project will be integrated with a 550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to ensure reliable and stable power supply.

The solar facility is primarily aimed at meeting the captive energy requirements of GAIL’s petrochemical plant at Pata, while also supporting additional demand from electrification of gas-based operations and upcoming compressed biogas plants in the state.

The project marks a significant step in expanding GAIL’s renewable energy portfolio and strengthening its transition towards cleaner energy sources.
