India’s Infrastructure Spending Surges Sixfold to Over Rs 12 Lakh Crore Annually: PM Modi

PM-Modi
PM Narendra Modi said that India’s annual infrastructure spending has increased more than sixfold, rising from less than Rs 2 lakh crore before 2014 to over Rs 12 lakh crore.

He highlighted that the sharp rise in investment reflects the government’s strong push towards expanding roads, highways, railways, airways and waterways across the country.

The Prime Minister noted that large-scale infrastructure development is underway nationwide, with projects worth over Rs 2.25 lakh crore currently in progress in Uttarakhand alone.

He also pointed to rapid developments in the Delhi–Western Uttar Pradesh–Uttarakhand region, including expansion of metro networks, rollout of regional rail systems and development of new airport infrastructure, indicating the scale and pace of connectivity-driven growth in India.
