Gujarat clears ₹1,887-cr urban infra investment

The Gujarat government has approved urban development works to the tune of ₹1,887.73 crore for six civic bodies, including infrastructural development works worth ₹599.20 crores in Ahmedabad, Surat (₹479.83 crore), Vadodara (₹179.28 crores), Rajkot (₹144.54 crore) and Jamnagar (₹65.50 crore). The works include construction of flyovers, roads, railway underbridges, storm water drainage, water supply, purchase of fire safety equipment, besides purchase of CT scan machines, MRI machines, construction of urban health centres, cultural centres, multilevel parking, swimming pools, gyms etc. The CM has also approved construction of 5 flyovers worth ₹230 crore in Rajkot. The bridges will be built at the 150-foot Ring Road of Ramapir crossroads over-bridge, 150-foot Ring Road of Nana mava crossroads over-bridge, near Jaddu's restaurant at Kalawad Road, Greenland crossroads over bridge and 150-foot Ring Road near Umiya Chowk. To regulate traffic, the CM has approved construction of a flyover worth ₹50 crore in Disa and one in Palanpur worth ₹28 crore. A sum of ₹25 crore has been approved for development work in Rajkot's outgrowth area, and ₹3 crore for a town hall in Dakor, ₹75 lakhs for Sidhpur, ₹21 lakhs for Kadi and ₹48 lakhs for Godhra.
