What are Carod Industries’ product range and key markets?
Carod Industries is a Spanish company with over 50 years of experience, manufacturing four main product ranges: diesel generators (7 KVA to 900 kVA), motor pumps for irrigation—including diesel-powered engines for firefighting systems—special compressors for mobile workshops and van installations, and high-pressure cleaners.The products are being exported to several European countries,Middle East, South America , Africa and Australia. We cater to the industrial, agricultural, and construction sectors. One of our key strengths is the high volume of engines we procure, which allows us to negotiate favorable pricing with suppliers.
Carod also manufactures tailor-made machines, such as open and soundproof motor pumps developed, under demand of our customers customized in the brand’s signature color and engine specifications. Our primary engine partner is Deutz from Germany, followed by Kohler and FPT from Italy. Recently, we partnered with Volvo, which adjusted its pricing strategy to compete more eff ectively with other engine manufacturers. For alternators, we use leading European brands such as Leroy Somer (France), Mecc Alte (Italy), and Stamford (UK), which are procured directly from Europe.
We are also a distributor of MWM engines for Motor pumps and generators —originally the old Mercedes-Benz South America division in joint venture with Deutz , now owned by the American group Navistar. These engines, originally used in Renault tractors, Internationl trucks, military vehicles are valued for their simple, fully mechanical design, which remains popular among agricultural users.
What emphasis does Carod place on product development, customization, and in its engineering know-how?
Carod places strong emphasis on flexibility, engineering expertise, and craftsmanship. Our technical team evaluates each custom request to deliver cost-effective, application-specific solutions—without the bureaucratic processes typical of large corporations. We also manufacture high-pressure hot-water cleaners used in municipal cleaning fleets, installedin vans equipped with water tanks and hoses for graffiti removal and street cleaning in Spanish cities, as well as for Australian customers.
Carod has recently developed several innovative models, including compressor-generator combinations that support both pneumatic and electric tools within a single van system, and silent generators equipped with retention trays to prevent oil and fuel leaks, as required under EU safety regulations.
As a family-run business, we remain highly flexible, accepting even single-unit prototype orders, unlike larger manufacturers that charge significantly more for custom-built designs. We offer personalized service and competitive pricing. We use various engines—German, Italian, and occasionally Chinese—depending on market requirements and price points. European engines such as Deutz, Kohler ,FPT, and Volvo are supplied with a two- to three-year warranty, while Chinese engines are sold exclusively within Spain due to high customs duties for re-exporting. Even so, customers purchasing Chinese-engine models benefit from European assembly quality and warranty assurance.
