ACE Unveils Next-Gen BS-V Backhoe Loader with TATA 74 hp Engine
Action Construction Equipment (ACE), unveiled its BS-V AX124 Backhoe Loader, setting new standards for sustainability, performance, and efficiency. The all-new AX124 BS-V Backhoe Loader powered by TATA 74 hp engine is engineered to meet the stringent Bharat Stage V (BS-V) emission norms. Its new design boasts of a bold grill, muscular bonnet, and premium cabin. The machine delivers exceptional fuel efficiency and lower emissions, positioning ACE at the forefront of sustainable construction solutions.

Sorab Agarwal, Executive Director, ACE, said, “The new backhoe loader not only delivers 15% better fuel efficiency but also 15% higher output per litre of fuel consumption. This new generation backhoe delivers on our promise of offering customers machines that are high on performance and efficiency, and also come at the right price.”

Informed Manish Handa, Vice President – Earthmoving Equipment Division, "We will be soon bringing out a 90 hp and a 49 hp backhoe loader also which will have BS-V electronic engines as per the new emission norms, and will continue to upgrade our older backhoe loaders as per the application demands.”
“We are also strengthening our dealer outlets and engaging with dealers more closely to create stronger customer engagement programs. The right pricing of our products along with efficient services, will further strengthen our position in the backhoe loader market,” he added.

ACE also showcased 7 innovative products from its diverse equipment portfolio that included: the 75-ton Rough Terrain Crane, 100-ton Crawler Crane, Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs), Telehandlers, BS-V 30 & 35-ton Mobile Cranes, Upgraded Motor Grader, and Upgraded Soil Compactor – all of which provide advanced, efficient, and eco-friendly solutions.

"We have given a facelift to our 55-80-100-ton crawler lattice boom cranes, which now come with a stylish and comfortable cabin and a joystick. The market for RT cranes in India is still very niche, but we have garnered a sizeable presence by ensuring superior quality, timely delivery and reliable service to our clients. We now plan to widen our range with 100 to 250-ton crawler and luffing tower cranes. Our 150-ton crawler crane will be launched in July 2025,” said Manish Mathur, CEO Cranes.
He informed that they have delivered 18 units of 75-ton Rough Terrain cranes to the Indian Navy comprising 12 units of 40 tons and 6 units of 750 tons. There are further orders for 20 units of 40 to 75 tons from Tata projects and other major contractors. The cranes are being produced at the ACE Industrial Park facility at Palwal, Haryana, where the company is also making 20-30-40-50-55-75-ton Rough Terrain cranes.

ACE also has a complete range of 25 to 100-ton truck cranes that come with an indigenous chassis, an operator-friendly cabin, and long U-shaped booms based on European standards. The 60-80-100 ton are seeing major demand, primarily from the onshore oil industry.

“To meet the emerging demand from high-rise constructions in metropolitan cities that have constricted worksites, we are planning to come up with luffing tower cranes and for precast construction and bridge pylon construction, we are working on 25-ton flattop tower cranes. ACE is a leader in the tower crane segment with almost 68% market share. We have further expanded our production capacity to produce an additional 600+ units of tower cranes, which will be over and above our annual production of 1000+ units. This will enable us to cut down lead times, and also allow us to bring down the cost of production and hedge the volatility in the cost of electronic parts and slew gears which we are importing. To lower the costs, we have begun manufacturing our own electronic panels.”
Amidst all the upgrades and launches, ACE will continue to produce its mainstay pick-n-carry cranes, which have a significant demand pull, including from the rental companies.
