"Our company has been here for about 17 years and we keep coming back because it's always a good show for us. All of our suppliers and competition are here too, so we have to be here. Most of the time, it really feels like a big family reunion and we're all just trying to figure out how we can work together." Spancrete Machinery Corp, Waukesha, Wisconson
Unique to WOC are the outdoor exhibits and demonstration areas where attendees can see equipment and technology in action. This high-energy, high-impact area lets attendees test products under real jobsite conditions—giving them the knowledge they need to make educated purchasing decisions. Popular returning and brand new events include the MCAA's Masonry Skills Challenge, Western Star Tough Site Challenge, the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® World Championship, Self-Leveling LIVE!, Safe Room Showcase, Artistry in Decorative Concrete, Crane Operator & Rigger Skills Competition!, The Hoover Dam & Bypass Bridge Tour, and the 2015 CIM Auction, just to name a few.
"When we bought the company five years ago, it was only known in New York and we've been working to expand the brand since then; World of Concrete has been one of the best places to do that. We love it here. We've found more international buyers here than at any of the other events and I think that's because of the nature of the event: The whole concrete industry is here." Kenco Winch, Brooklyn New York
The World of Concrete Education Program features targeted 90-minute and 3-hour sessions within targeted tracks such as Business Leadership & Management, Concrete Production, Concrete Repair, Decorative Concrete, and Engineering. With more than 50% brand new sessions, WOC 2015 will offer over 100 expert-led sessions, including interactive workshops such as Train-the-Trainer, Boot Camps for Field Leaders, and OSHA 10-Hour Safety plus Hands-On-Training opportunities for laying concrete masonry block, placing & finishing floors, surveying, stamped concrete and concrete repairs. Targeting both civil and structural engineers, the Engineering Day, scheduled for Thursday, February 5, features an education track with three seminars as well as scheduled demos and other events. For the attendees doing concrete business in Canada, WOC will feature two new seminars presented by the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) and the Ready Mixed Concrete Association of Ontario (RMCAO).
World of Concrete 2015 will once again present the CREWS THAT ROCK competition, now in its 4th successful year, sponsored by BASF, to honor crew members for their teamwork and contributions to the industry. "The quality of leads this year has gone up big time. The real buyers are finding us. I would say 90% of the scanned leads we've taken are hot leads with projects or problems that they're actively looking to solve."Prosoco Co., Lawrence, Kansas
"Coming to World of Concrete is a great opportunity for us to get some face-time with our long-term customers so that we can show them our new products. The new leads we're getting are from people who are coming to solve a problem or finish their project, and I think they keep coming back because the show keeps evolving."
