IMME 2016: India's Premier Exhibition on the Mining sector
The 13th edition of International Mining & Machinery Exhibition (IMME), India's Premier Exhibition on the Mining sector is set to take place from 16 to 19 November 2016 at Eco Park, Rajarhat, Kolkata.
Since its inception in 1984, IMME has proven to be the largest Mining Exhibition ever in India. This year, the show is expected to witness over 400 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors over an exhibit area of 100,000 square meters. Moreover, the trade fair will also have country pavilions from Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Poland, Russia, UK.
Mr Chaudhary Birender Singh, Hon'ble Minister of Steel, Government of India, Mr Balvinder Kumar, Secretary Mines, Government of India, and Mr S Bhattacharya, Chairman, Coal India Limited, have in-principle confirmed their presence at the show. Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Steel, Ministry of Coal, Government of India, and Coal India Limited have extended their formal support to the event. Coal India is participating in the exhibition and is also likely to have a meeting of their subsidiaries' CEOs during the show.
Other participants include department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India, and big Industry players such as CATERPILLAR, TATA Hitachi, L&T - Komatsu, JCB, BEML, CASE New Holland, BKT, Mahindra, Liebherr, Volvo, SREI, Leeboy, Voltas, Joy Mining, Atlas Copco, Sandvik, ABB and many others.
Around 8 international Associations will be having their Country Pavilions West Bengal Mineral Development & Trading Corporation Limited and Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd have extended their support and have confirmed a large space in the Exhibition. International Mining & Machinery Exhibition (IMME) 2016 is expected to be a big draw with the government's thrust on infrastructure and mining sectors, and its efforts in monitoring all projects at the highest level and removing all obstacles. There is no doubt that the future is good, however, the slowdown due to government regulation and non-allotment of coal blocks has affected the industry in total. But with new policies and clean allocation, we expect that the industry will again be back on track soon.
