ECEL Starts Production on Its New World Class Manufacturing Facility
Escorts Construction Equipment Limited (ECEL) has recently commissioned its state-of-the-art equipment manufacturing plant rolling out pick-n-carry cranes and vibratory compactors. The new facility, located at Ballabgarh in Faridabad district of Haryana, is equipped with inbuilt hi-tech technology, housing all the modern facilities under one roof.
Spreading across 16 acres of lush green land and sprawling over 25,000sq meter of covered area on the outskirts of Delhi, the new facility has been developed with an investment of over 100 crore in the first phase. The plant which is unique and first of its kind in India, is equipped with world-class hi-tech technology including magnetic lifting systems, computer controlled and non–polluting Plasma sheet cutting machine, using both gas cutter and plasma emission simulator automatically pushing polluting gases up into the sky. For better welding penetration and less flaws, a Robotic Twin Torch Submerged ARC Welding system is placed that ensures consistency and productivity and CLOOS Cutting Robot with HPR130 for slots and holes cutting in booms and main frame makes the entire manufacturing process a go-by to the traditional and conventional methods of straightening, sheet cutting, and welding works.
At the new plant, the entire equipment manufacturing undergoes a strenuous inspection and testing at various stages of production that brings down the rejection level of various component to almost zero and ensures the finished product matching world standards and are more fuel efficient and more powerful with potential of high performance said, Mr. T K Singh, Head Production Engineering.
The layout and design operations of the new facility is completely based on the Lean Sigma System enabling ECEL to roll out improved version of equipment benchmarked environment-friendly and efficient, he added.
Earlier in the day, briefing the NBMCW about ECEL new manufacturing facility, Vice President Marketing, Mr. Rajesh Sharma said that the current modernization and efficiency related measures attributed to meet the emerging complex equipment scenario. The product and application is our main strategy to remain a market leader as the company has successfully spearheaded important techno- logical development in earthmoving equipment and contemporary range of new generation cranes. Now, the company is solemnly engaged in the expansion and revamping of its Ballabgarh manufacturing facility which has started rolling out products of world standards and enabling us to meet our aspirations on quality, productivity, and technical superiority of our products.
