CERA (Construction Equipment Rental Association of India), a newly formed non-profit organization, recently held its 3rd conference at the Ritz, Moti Nagar, New Delhi, in support of the Rental Industry. The association which has become a common voice of the construction equipment industry, covered a range of issues relating to the Equipment Rental industry.
Participants took the opportunity to highlight their problems and issues to the notice of the CERA members, namely,
Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal (Honorary President), Mr. Jitender Agarwal (Honoray Vice-President), Mr. Satin Sachdeva (Secretary General), Mr. Deepak Malik (Joint Secretary), Mr. J S Anand (Treasurer), Mr. Suchit Agarwal (Founder Member), besides others, all of whom shared and exchanged views with other industry experts present.
It was unanimously decided to make CERA a common voice of the industry to the relevant authorities, respective states and the Central governments by formalising its constitutional rights, norms, terms & conditions, and codes of conduct. CERA, which provides financial, moral, and legal assistance to its members and the industry as a whole, called upon all engaged in the equipment rental business to register with the Association. During the event, CERA launched its official website www.ceraindia.org and 24/7 helpline number +91-98995-54333.
Mr. Jitender Aggarwal, addressing the audience, said, “We’re aware of the tremendous efforts made by CERA, and the huge financial contribution by its core members to make it not only a common voice but also a global forum of all like-minded people. I wish CERA every success in its noble endeavour to develop its presence and increase worldwide membership. It has become commonplace to say that payment recovery is the most severe constraint to the impetus of rental industry. Indeed, CERA could provide guidelines for a collective approach for efficient recovery procedure, financial assistance to its members, PF and ESI issues, etc.”
Mr. Deepak Malik, also assuring the attendees of CERA’s support, said, “The goal of CERA is to create a social and legal wing to get the debt/dues recovered from the contractors whom CERA members have worked with. We have many years of experience and have learnt a lot from this industry, especially how to tackle the biggest challenges of the rental industry in a sustainable and productive way.”
Mr. Satin Sachdeva averred, “I can see the power of association for this meet has indeed delivered value that I can use and share with the whole fraternity of rental services. CERA wants to narrate the painful stories of the members of the rental industry to all those who are responsible and make them answerable. CERA empowers its members/hirers to become independent while dealing with contractors by taking help from CERA’s financial and legal wings. CERA, with its past experiences is equipped to offer new solutions for its members. No matter how much we can do by ourselves on the local or national level, whether it be recovery or growth of CERA, it’s never enough. In a spirit of cooperation, we, in this area of construction industry, are proud of looking into all past and present concerns of the rental industry. All of us must join in an action-oriented effort to attack and solve the problems that have beset the CE rental industry.”
