BuildArch and Build UP 08 Bracing for the Mega Event

For the first time, three organizations including Bangalore International Exhibition Centre ( BIEC ), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Deutsche Messe, Hannover, Germany (DMAG) are jointly organizing “BuildArch 2008 & Build Up 2008,” India’s Comprehensive International Exhibition and Conference from 21st–24th October 2008 at the International Exhibition Center (BIEC), Bangalore.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Urban Development Government of India, Government of Karnataka and many other associations/institutions of the industry and trade.

Shri S.Jaipal Reddy, Honorable Minister for Urban Development and Shri B S Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka will be the chief guests and will inaugurate the trade show.

The event has been envisaged as the India’s most Comprehensive International Exhibition and Conference on Architecture, Building and Construction, Property Investments and Development Opportunities on a global scale.

BuildArch 2008 & Build Up 2008, the two concurrent events have been conceived by BIEC, CII and DMAG has invited global participation to provide a unique platform for the Industry forum to discuss all the policy matters under one roof through high-level conferences such as, International Conference on Building of the Future: Architecture & Construction, Green Building and National Conclave on Real Estate. Leading Architects, CXOs, CFOs, Real Estate Developers, Builders, and so on.

Mr J. P. Nayak, Member of the Board & President (Operations) Larsen & Toubro Ltd is Chairing BuildArch 2008 and Mr Irfan Razack, Chairman & Managing Director, Prestige Estate Projects Pvt. Ltd. will chair Build Up 2008. While Mr Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman, BIEC and Chairman & Managing Director, Godrej & Boyce Ltd is the overall Chairman of these events.

According to Mr. J.P Nayak, the event is designed to offer complete solutions in buildings and building construction highlighting critical policy issues that needs to be addressed to realize the immense growth potential in this sector.

“We are looking forward for this unique international networking event to enhance business opportunities along with being instrumental in bridging the knowledge gaps and bringing together the industries and the users for technology development, transfer and subsequent commercialization” added Mr. Nayak.

BuildArch 2008, an exhibition on Architecture, Building & Construction Technology, Materials, Interiors and systems will have over 200 exhibitors from India and abroad. The 1stedition of this show will cover more than 20,000 sq. ft area and will have country pavilions and participation from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, and UAE. The exhibition will be a launching pad for products and technologies from this segment.

BuildUp 2008 will be a concurrent event focusing on Real Estate and property development. Leading builders, property developers and financial institutions across India are taking part in this exhibition.

The Indian real estate is being fuelled by market deregulation and a rapidly expanding middle class. The property market saw more development during the last three years than in the preceding 50 years.

It is with this background, that Build Up 2008–Real Estate Exhibition & Conference focusing on Property Investment and Development has been organized. The conference–Indian Realty Gearing Ahead will focus on Investment opportunities for national and international investors and highlight policy issues.

Building and construction activities worldwide consume 3 billion tons of raw materials each year or 40% of total global use. India’s red-hot real estate market, which witnessed a price spiral of 35 to 50 percent, last year, has created an unprecedented demand for building materials and high-end lifestyle products.
