Despite a slowing down in the pace of economic growth, bauma China 2012- the sixth edition of the International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Construction Vehicles and Equipment that held in Shanghai, has once again proved itself as a veritable "hot spot" for the construction equipment industry. The fair had a record-breaking number of exhibitors All in all, 2,718 exhibitors from 38 countries (2010: 1,858 exhibitors from 37 countries) took part in this edition which represents an increase of 46 percent whereas around 180,000 visitors (2010: 155,615 visitors) attended the show which is an increase of 16 percent from previous year. For the first time ever, bauma China occupied all of the exhibition space – a total of 300,000 square meters. This is 30 percent more than the last one. Hence, the show proved its success all the ways by having more visitors, more exhibitors, and more exhibition space.

Commenting on this success, Eugen Egetenmeir, Managing Director of Messe München, who was very much satisfied from the show, said that "bauma China braved all market tendencies. In this respect, it was held just at the right time. The show once again proved to be the key business platform for companies to tap into the Chinese market, as well as Greater Asia."
