The new E series machine is the next generation crawler excavator, following in the tracks of the renowned D-series, with additional power, control and operating efficiencies. It boosts operating efficiency by 5% while reducing fuel consumption by 8% over the previous D-series unveiled last year. The E-series is also a study in power and control, starting with LiuGong's Intelligent Power Control System (IPC). The automatic power boost mode increases digging force by up to 10% for ten-second intervals, giving the operator an "on demand” boost for additional break-out power. The no-time-limit heavy lift system enables the operator to increase pressure to build force and reduce hydraulic flow to the attachment, while reducing speed, for added control during lifting operations. An automatic boom descend regeneration system allows the boom to descend faster, increasing productivity while lowering fuel consumption.
While on the other hand the displayed LiuGong Dressta bulldozers feature powerful, reliable Cummins diesel engines, with advanced electronic fuel injection systems that deliver high torque and superior throttle response across the entire rpm range. They pack the extra power today's demanding construction and material handling customers require, while keeping fuel consumption and maintenance to a minimum. A grid heater ensures dependable cold-weather starts making the machines well suited to operation in harsh climates. The advanced electro-hydraulic steering system features pre-set travel speed selection and automatic downshift – to help keep the operator focused on the work, not the shifting. Dressta's exclusive two-speed steering drive design provides capability of gradual turns with full power to both tracks for increased productivity and less slide across tough terrain.
The modularity of mast sections allows this crane to achieve freestanding heights of up to 95 meters. The new products that were introduced include compaction machines, generators, pumps, light towers and also the compact equipment. These products have a sturdy design and comply with Wacker Neuson's high level quality criteria. At the same time the group offer safe, high-quality products at competitive prices.
"The Asian market is becoming increasingly important for our group. We would like to grow here significantly in the coming years," reports Cem Peksaglam, CEO of Wacker Neuson SE. "On the one hand, that will be realized through our new product range in the area of construction equipment, which we first introduced to a larger audience at bauma China. We also see good market opportunities with our compact equipment."
In order to grow further, the group has developed its own series of construction equipment that is specifically tailored to the requirements of the Chinese market. The new series consists of compaction equipment, generators, pumps and light masts. The products are ruggedly designed and meet the high Wacker Neuson quality requirements. "Our customers appreciate the long tradition of development and historical roots of Wacker Neuson that reach back to the year 1848. We have incorporated these many years of knowledge and our experience into the new product range for the Asian market and offer products with an outstanding price-performance ratio," informs Martin Lehner, CTO and deputy chairman of the executive board of Wacker Neuson.
The group sees additional potential with the introduction of a range of compact machines. "In the medium term, we also need to manufacture these products locally in order to be able to establish a competitive position in Asia. However, when and where we open a production site in China, is currently still undecided," Martin Lehner went on.
Wacker Neuson manufactures at eight production sites around the world. In 1994, the first production site in the Asian region was opened in Manila in the Philippines. The new construction equipment for the Asian market, among other things, is manufactured there.
"Our group is focused on growth. We see the greatest potential in Asia presently, but also in other emerging markets, such as in South America or in Africa. We already have our own distribution channels in many countries. Now it is up to us to position the products appropriately and market them successfully," concludes Cem Peksaglam.
Both models have fixed axles, 360 degree rotation (not continuous), 4WD/2WS and a single 230 kg cage capacity. No jibs are available with the booms. Significant weight reductions also mean that the booms can use smaller engines, with both fitted with Deutz engines: the 24RS uses the same engine as the 600S and the 18RS has the same power plant as the 450 series booms.
The 18RS and 24RS models have been made 2000 kg and 4000 kg lighter, respectively, than the 600 and 800 series machines by using a lighter duty knuckle design similar to that found on JLG's E600 electric articulated boom.
Besides, the arm on the machines, available in three lengths for each model, has been redesigned to provide break-out forces 5% greater than the previous models these new machines replace. In addition, the new design optimises weight distribution and minimises the offset of the undercarriage, resulting in excellent stability and high lifting performance at the front and rear.
