Union Cabinet Approves Two New Delhi Metro Corridors

The total project cost is Rs 8,399 crore, funded by the Government of India, Government of Delhi, and international funding agencies. These corridors will span 20.762 km, with the Inderlok - Indraprastha corridor extending the Green Line and providing interchange with several other lines. The Lajpat Nagar - Saket G Block corridor will connect multiple lines and consist of eight elevated stations.
The Inderlok - Indraprastha Line will enhance connectivity to the Bahadurgarh region of Haryana, facilitating travel to central and east Delhi. Eight new interchange stations will be constructed, improving connectivity among all operational lines of the Delhi Metro network.
Construction of these corridors, part of the fourth phase expansion, is expected to be completed by March 2026. The Delhi Metro network currently spans 391 km with 286 stations, making it one of the fastest-growing Metro networks globally. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has initiated pre-bid activities and tender document preparations.
