Singapore to invest in ₹102 trillion NIP projects

India has roped in Singapore to invest in the newly launched National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), under which the government aims to take up infrastructure development projects worth over ₹102 trillion. In this connection, Nirmala Sitharaman and Singapore Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam, agreed that both countries will take forward the collaboration on Networked Trade Platform Initiative of Singapore. The Finance Minister encouraged investors from Singapore to explore the newly launched National Infrastructure Pipeline and become partners in India's infra development plans. The FM had recently unveiled ₹102 trillion of projects whcih will be implemented in the next five years. These projects are on top of the ₹51 trillion spent by the centre and the states during the last six years. The new projects comprise 39 percent projects each by the centre and the states and 22 percent by the private sector.
