The Chilla Elevated Road project is expected to significantly reduce travel time for road users who frequently encounter traffic jams at Noida Gate during peak hours. Commuters from areas such as Akshardham, Mayur Vihar, Kalindi Kunj, Sarita Vihar in the capital, as well as Noida and Greater Noida, are set to benefit greatly from this infrastructure development.
Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of Noida Authority, explained that the authority would bear approximately Rs 393.6 crore, almost half of the project cost. The remaining funds will be provided through the central government's Gati Shakti scheme, which supports infrastructure projects with financial assistance.
Following the cabinet's approval, the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Ltd (UPSBCL), the project's construction agency, will initiate a new tender process for the elevated road. Vijay Rawal, Senior Manager at Noida Authority, stated that the construction is expected to take approximately three and a half years once it commences. Under the arrangement, UPSBCL will provide technical supervision, while the Noida Authority will oversee the project and disburse the funds.
