NH-47 Indore–Raghogarh Greenfield Highway Project to Improve Connectivity Across Central India

NH-47 Indore–Raghogarh Greenfield Highway Project
The 26.6-km Indore–Raghogarh four-lane greenfield highway project on National Highway 47 (NH-47) is under construction in Madhya Pradesh, with the aim of improving regional connectivity and facilitating the movement of goods and passengers across Central India.

According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the project includes a four-lane carriageway, one major bridge, four minor bridges and 19 underpasses. These structures are designed to improve traffic flow, provide safer crossings and strengthen local connectivity along the corridor.

Once completed, the highway is expected to improve connectivity between Indore and Harda and strengthen links towards Betul and Nagpur. It is also expected to enhance road connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, supporting transport between key economic centres in the region.

The corridor is designed to facilitate smoother movement of passenger vehicles and goods carriers. The bridges and underpasses will help manage crossings along the route while improving access for local traffic.

The project forms part of wider efforts to strengthen road infrastructure across Central India, with improved links expected to support regional transport and the movement of goods between destinations in Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring Maharashtra.
