Odisha government has granted approval for 21 road projects, with a combined length of 172.53 km, in Malkangiri district. These projects, proposed by the Rural Development department, will enhance connectivity to remote areas such as Chitrakonda, Kalimela, Korukonda, and Podia. Under the Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana-Connecting Unconnected Villages in Difficult Areas (MMSY-CUVDA) scheme, which is fully funded by the state government, these initiatives demonstrate the commitment to improving rural connectivity in challenging and Maoist-affected regions.
Among the approved projects, the road from Muduliguda to Amalibeda in Chitrakonda, spanning 32 km, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 30 crore. Additionally, the Polur to Kursanpalli road, covering 11.6 km, will be developed at a cost of Rs 9 crore.
