Recycling construction debris plant in Mysuru

Recycling construction debris plant
The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) plans to establish a Construction and Demolition (C and D) debris recycling plant to manage building waste which is choking the city.

Mayor B.L. Bhyrappa told that the land had been identified at four places to help dump the debris and it will be transferred to the recycling plant from these places. The plant is expected to come up at Kesare and the process of establishing the plant will commence once the government issues the work order. The Mayor said that some companies had evinced interest in the project and are prepared to invest up to Rs. 10cr. Recycled material will be used to lay roads and sidewalks and can effectively reduce the problem plaguing the city, according to the Mayor.

Once established, the new plant is expected to help reduce the dumping of debris on vacant sites and open spaces and reduce pollution against which the MCC has been bombarded with complaints.
