Speco to promote asphalt batch plants in India
Korean asphalt batch mix plant manufacturer Speco, which has entered a technical collaboration with Gujarat-based asphalt batch mix plant manufacturer Atlas Technologies pvt. ltd. Mehsana, will be contesting the well-entrenched presence of Indian and other foreign plant manufacturers in India’s bituminous road construction market.
According to Soo-Nam,Kim, CEO, and Young Rok Song, General Manager, Global Business Development, Speco Limited, “There are close to 137 Speco asphalt batch mix plants working in India since 1979. They are of varied capacities and are delivering the desired rated productivity with low operating cost. The high quality, low-cost manufacturing capabilities of Atlas Technologies, combined with their superior product capabilities, will give us sufficient headroom to promote our asphalt batch mix plants in the highly competitive Indian market.”
Speco’s asphalt batch mix plants are in the range of 40-400 tph. Initially, the company will manufacture and promote its 80-100-120-160 and 200 tph plants, which will be branded as Atlas Specoand exported to Speco’s global markets through its own distribution channels.The burners, mixing units and vibrating screens will be initially imported from Korea, while the other components, will be assembled in the upcoming new facility being set up by Atlas on the Mehsana- Ahmedabad highway.“The patented Speco’s technology in our bag house filters, screens, twin shaft mixers and burners, which deliver energy efficiency and the rated throughput, along with the market presence and support of Atlas, makes us confident of promoting the products successfully across India,” said the twoSpecoofficials.They informed that the plants manufactured for the global markets by Atlas will be made completely under the quality standards of Speco. There are close to 2500 Speco plants working in 53 countries (mostly African and Asian markets).
Atlas manufactures, asphalt batch mix plants of 60-80100-120160-200 tph, which are available as skid-mounted and mobile units. It has recently launched 80-120 and 160 tph wheel-mounted asphalt batch mix plants for easy towing between sites, and it also manufactures mobile and stationery concrete batch mix plants.
