What groundbreaking innovation has the company recently introduced?
Infra Engineers India Pvt. Ltd. (IEPL) has been serving the used construction and mining equipment industry for nearly 10 years. We are committed to developing innovative solutions that meet changing market demands. In line with this vision, we are introducing a Dual Electric & Diesel Hybrid Excavator, setting a new competitive benchmark in the industry.
Dual Electric & Diesel Hybrid Excavator offers two power options: Diesel Mode and Electric Mode. While the Diesel Mode is ideal for areas without electricity or where mobility is needed, the Electric Mode is perfect for locations with available power.
How does it work and what are the cost savings?
The excavator has both an Electric Motor and a Diesel Engine which can be switched between Electric or Diesel power at the push of a button from the cabin, offering flexibility based on site needs.
Users can achieve significantly, lower operating costs whilst running in Electric Mode, as electricity costs are only 25% of what the diesel uses. For a 20-ton excavator, the diesel consumes 12-15 litres per hour, costing around Rs 1,500 per hour. The electricity costs is just Rs. 375-400 per hour.
Over 400 hours of operation in a month, the diesel cost is Rs. 6,00,000, and the electricity cost is Rs. 1,50,000. This results in monthly savings of Rs. 4,50,000 to Rs. 5,00,000, along with reduced maintenance, as there’s no need for engine oil changes or filter replacements.
As regards investment, for diesel operation, there is a need for daily investment in fuel, whereas in electric mode, electricity costs are incurred only on a monthly basis.

What are the key benefits of Electric Excavators?
- Electricity costs just 25% of diesel, thereby proving to be a lot more affordable.
- Fewer maintenance needs lead to less downtime, improving overall efficiency.
- No oil changes and fewer repairs mean 15-20% lower maintenance costs over the machine’s lifetime.
- Ideal for projects with strict environmental regulations, electric excavators produce no on-site emissions.
- Electric motors are quieter, making them better suited for urban or noise-sensitive areas.
- Reduced noise, less vibration, and no exhaust fumes create a better, safer working environment.
What are the applications of Hybrid Excavators?
- Perfect for city projects with strict emission standards and noise restrictions.
- Efficient for heavy-duty excavation, reducing fuel costs.
- Ideal for enclosed spaces like tunnels and demolition sites, where zero emissions improve air quality.
- For projects lasting months or years, hybrid machines offer huge fuel savings and no emissions over time.
What is the future of Dual Electric & Diesel Hybrid Excavator?
Diesel excavators are popular for heavy-duty tasks and remote projects, while electric excavators are fast becoming a preferred option for urban and regulated areas with lower operating costs and zero emissions.
IEPL has established a dual option, enabling double advantage in one machine. In the long run, this innovative product is anticipated to meet high market demand and deliver substantial benefits.
