Hidromas Showcases Top-Quality Hydraulic Components

“In India, this business is largely driven by major trucking companies such as Tata Motors, Bharat Benz, Ashok Leyland, and VE Commercial Vehicles. Our company partners with all of them, supplying complete hydraulic tipping systems,” said Subhamoy Ghosh, Business Head.
A significant share of the business also comes from the mining sector, where its systems are used for both overburden removal and mineral transportation. Once minerals such as coal or iron ore are extracted, they must be transported to power plants or steel plants — operations that rely heavily on dump trucks equipped with tipping hydraulics.
Speaking about its competitive advantage, Ghosh added that the company offers powerful hydraulic cylinders with larger diameters, delivering superior lifting force. These high-performance cylinders are supported by compatible hydraulic aggregates, resulting in a complete and robust system that outperforms conventional offerings.
It produces around 30,000 cylinders annually, with 60–65% supplied to OEMs and the remaining 30–35% cater to the open market, primarily for semi-trailer applications. A key differentiator is the in-house chrome plating of cylinders to prevent corrosion. According to Ghosh, while most competitors outsource this process, the company retains full control, ensuring consistent quality across all production parameters.
He informed that all new developments undergo rigorous testing at the company’s in-house R&D and test facilities in India, supported by partner labs and a dedicated field-testing team. Vehicles are monitored under real-world operating conditions, data is analyzed, and feedback is incorporated into the development cycle. Post-launch corrections form a standard part of product lifecycle management, with field issues identified, rectified, retested, and improvements implemented. Strict quality controls are applied to all incoming materials, with batch-wise testing ensuring reliability.
The company engages directly with end-users, primarily for service support. To strengthen this connection, it has launched a dedicated service app on the Google Play Store—the first of its kind in India for this segment. Through the app, customers can log service requests, track resolution status, and share feedback. This structured system ensures faster service response and stronger engagement with end-users.
Hidromas operates three manufacturing facilities located in Turkey, Brazil, and India (Mahindra World City, Chennai). Brazil serves the Americas, Turkey covers Turkey and parts of Europe, while India supports the rest of the world. Importantly, the Indian design center sets the blueprint followed by all locations, highlighting its global strategic importance. The company has an extensive service network with 53 spare-parts stocking locations, and over 100 service engineer locations nationwide.
