What progress do you see in India’s construction equipment market amid infrastructure growth, global integration, and evolving regulatory frameworks, and what strategies will define competitiveness in this dynamic landscape?
India’s construction equipment market is progressing at an impressive pace as sustained infrastructure investment, deeper global integration, and evolving regulatory standards reshape customer expectations and business models. The shift toward cleaner technologies, digital fleet management, rental penetration, and lifecycle-cost thinking is creating a more mature and competitive environment. In this landscape, success will depend on a company’s ability to blend innovation with reliability — delivering machines that are more efficient, connected, and sustainable while ensuring strong service ecosystems and skilled support on the ground. At JCB, we are aligning our strategy around these priorities, investing in advanced technologies, strengthening our nationwide dealer network, and creating solutions tailored to India’s operating conditions to remain a trusted partner in the country’s infrastructure growth.
With a strong presence in India and operations globally, how is your company leveraging local production, integrating international technologies, and expanding exports to stay competitive both in the Indian market and worldwide?
Our competitiveness, both in India and globally, comes from a balanced strategy that combines strong local manufacturing with world-class technology and an expanding export footprint. India is home to some of our most advanced facilities worldwide, and the scale, efficiency, and engineering expertise here allow us to produce high-quality machines tailored for Indian needs while also meeting global standards. We continuously integrate international technologies, from advanced engines and hydraulics to digital and telematics systems, ensuring our products in India reflect the best of JCB’s global innovation. This synergy has enabled India to become a major export hub for us, with machines and components shipped to over 100 countries. By leveraging local strengths, global R&D, and a robust supply chain, we are able to remain competitive in the Indian market while contributing meaningfully to JCB’s international growth.
