UltraTech Deploys 45 Electric Heavy-Duty Trucks for Clinker Transportation in Northern India

The fleet will transport clinker from Kotputli Cement Works in Rajasthan to Dadri Cement Works and Sikandarabad Cement Works in the Delhi-NCR region, covering a distance of approximately 250 km across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The deployment further strengthens UltraTech’s existing fleet of more than 750 green-fuel vehicles.
The initiative follows a transport service agreement between UltraTech, EIM, and a logistics service provider. The fleet comprises 45 electric trucks, each with a carrying capacity of 55 tonnes. According to the company, the deployment has the potential to reduce more than 8,900 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, while displacing approximately 2.9 million litres of diesel consumption per year.

UltraTech has been among the early adopters of sustainable transport solutions in the cement sector. The company introduced CNG-powered trucks in 2021, LNG trucks in 2022, and electric trucks in 2024. As of FY26, its logistics fleet includes 638 CNG trucks, 32 LNG trucks, and 89 electric trucks operating across various manufacturing units.
The latest deployment reinforces UltraTech’s commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its logistics operations while supporting the broader transition towards cleaner and more sustainable transportation in India.
