In line with its strategy to enhance customer experience with minimal downtime of elevators & escalators, and for swift deliveries of spares, KONE has opened a new warehouse at Andheri in Mumbai that houses more than 2000 different parts, and will serve more than 2500 current customers. As a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, KONE provides elevators, escalators and travelators, as well as solutions for maintenance and modernization to add value to buildings throughout their life cycle. The new warehouse will support elevators, escalators, travellators and Inno Track and it has a separate storage facility for heavy materials as well as conditioned air storage for electronic spares.
Commented Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE Elevator India, “The new warehouse aligns with our strategy of True Service Mindset and ensuring speed of service that reaffirms our commitment to our customers in India. Efficient supply of spare parts across our existing service network is imperative to complement our plan to increase our sales touch points. India is urbanizing at rates never seen before and as the need for housing grows, vertical transportation and equipment will continue to grow just as rapidly.”
With the Indian government’s thrust on the development of smart cities and residential complexes, KONE feels the elevator and escalator market is significantly important. The consistent growth of India’s realty sector has been gaining attention worldwide and KONE is poised to support this market growth. The new warehouse and the significant investments made in the past couple of years are in sync with KONE’s strong commitment to India to deliver innovative and comprehensive solutions to its customers.
“KONE has been widely recognised globally for excellent performance and service commitments. We will continue to provide world-class service and meet the growing demand of the Indian market as well. We will set up additional spare parts distribution centres in other locations in India in the coming months,” said Gossain.
