Bosch Cordless Power Tools With Lithium-Ion Technology
"Quality, Innovation and Customer Orientation, the three guiding principles allows Bosch to create products that are core to users' needs. Bosch Power Tools enjoy greater and strong loyalty across the globe. In India over 600,000 power tools are sold annually which means that one Bosch Power Tool is being purchased almost every minute" said Mr. Vijay Pandey, Vice President-India & SAARC Countries, during an interaction with NBM&CW.

To further strengthen its position as a leader in introducing hi-tech and innovative products, Bosch Power Tools has recently launched a complete new range of light-weight, cordless power tools for professional users in India. Moreover, the presence of famed Olympic Medalist in boxing, Mr. Vijender Singh, who unveiled the new range of tools along with Vice President-India & SAARC Countries, Mr. Vijay Pandey, added glitters to the colorful ceremony. The event was followed by live display and demonstration of specially created Go Kart, which was powered by Bosch cordless power tool.

The new range of Bosch tools which drew accolades from professional users from around the globe consist of dynamic tools including cordless screwdrivers, drill/drivers, impact wrenches, multi-tool and rotary hammers etc. These tools cater to diverse industry segments such as automotive, construction, manufacturing, electrical, electronics and interiors. Professionals looking for effective tools offering great value for money, the Lithium-Ion powered cordless tools offer a quick fix solution to screw driving, drilling, cutting and hammering. Powered by innovative Bosch Lithium-Ion technology, these convenient-to-use tools offer 400% longer battery back up and quick charging capabilities.

Speaking about the requirements of the present day customers, Mr. Vijay Pandey said, “Today, professionals looking for tools delivering high power and performance, longer life span, fast charging cycle as well as high level of user safety and compact designs. The new range of cordless power tools combine all these features and are able to boost engineering standards. Innovation has always been at the heart of our offerings and we are positive that customers from across the nation will benefit by the use of new range of tools from Bosch.”

While launching the tools at a crowded press conference, Mr. Vijender Singh got the first hand experience when he rode on a specially created Go Kart running on a Bosch cordless power tool. Also installed in the Go Kart was a GSR 36 V-Li Professional – a 36 volt Lithium ion screw driver that powered the kart. What was special about it was that the Lithium Ion battery technology provides the necessary power to drive the kart. It is so powerful that it can even replace corded power tools.

Impressed by the power delivered by Bosch Power Tools, the renowned boxer said, “In boxing field, the power comes from inside. But today, I have experienced a different kind of power. This is an amazing concept from Bosch Power Tools to showcase the power of Bosch cordless tools through this kart. He added that now he is sure that the alphabet B has power as B stands for Boxing, Bosch and finally Brilliant. So I hope that for the Bosch power tools users, including professionals & tradesmen, the new range is going to be very beneficial and useful.”

On the sidelines of the event when NBM&CW asked Mr. Vijay, “How Bosch power tools are better and superior than others as the same Li ion technology is also being put to use by other manufacturers?” He replied that Bosch power tools powered by Li-ion technology last four times longer in comparison to others Li-ion batteries. Bosch offers Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) as a safety device to protect the battery against overload, overheating and total discharge. At the same time it also offers heat management to reduce the battery temperature and protecting the cells from excessive heat. Li-ion other advantages include robustness, no power loss and no memory effect and all these make them to live longer.

Commenting on the unmatched popularity of the tools worldwide and also in India, Mr. Vijay said, “The tools enjoy greater and strong loyalty across the globe due to their innovative technology, power and quality usage. Around 32 million Bosch power tools are sold worldwide every year. Claiming that Bosch is currently the leader in the power tool market in India as more than 600,000 Bosch power tools are sold annually which means that one Bosch power tool is being purchased almost every minute.”

To a question as how the company will retain its leadership position, he replied that we will always be a front liner and for this Bosch is focusing more on research and development to offer better and better product each time. We have planned to launch 100 products in India in 2010, where 42-46 products have already been launched and remaining would be launched by the end of the year.

Elaborating further he added that Bosch follows the guiding principles of quality, innovation and customer orientation that allows the company to create products that are core to users’ needs. The newly introduced cordless tools do not require electric power supply, are ergonomically designed and are very light in weight. Ranging from `3000/- to `40,000/-, the new range of cordless power tools have been designed to handle light, medium and even extreme applications, both indoors and outdoors and give best results every time. What’s more – they do not get affected even after a fall from 2 meter height on a hard concrete floor all due to a special housing material called Durashield.

Emphasizing on the customer focus being key to the region, Mr. Vijay added, “We have also created a one-stop solution for our customers by offering fix solutions, measuring tools and accessories along with Bosch cordless power tools. The world-class service will also include an after-sales service backup. The idea behind this effort is to provide a hassle-free experience to our consumers, anytime, anywhere in the country.”

In his concluding remark, he revealed that Bosch Power Tool division has been successfully operating in the world with a turnover of 3.1 billion Euros. As the world’s leading power tool manufacturer, the company recognizes the crucial needs to address and design solutions which will meet the user’s daily challenges and issues at work.
