
The conference was inaugurated by chief guest M. V. Satish, Whole Time Director & Senior EVP (Building, Minerals and Metals) at Larsen and Toubro along with Guest of Honor Vijay Kulkarni- Partner at Midas Techfin Consultants LLP, and other CCMA committee members.
Dr. B.L. Maheshwari, President - CCMA & MD & CEO - Aquaproof Construction Chemical, presented the welcome note. Dr. Vijay Raman, VP - CCMA and Business Director, Constructions Chemicals at BASF South Asia, welcomed the delegates. In his inaugural speech, he laid emphasis on the growth opportunities in the Indian construction industry. CCMA Broadcast - the bimonthly newsletter of the association, was also released at the event.
With the promising growth of the construction industry in India, the goal of the conference was to raise awareness and quality standards by serving as a platform for CCMA to communicate effectively with government, industry bodies, customers and other stakeholders. Speaking at the occasion Dr. A.J Charles of Perma Construction Aids Pvt said, “High quality construction chemicals contribute towards sustainability and durability of a structure. The chemicals are key inputs for any construction activity – be it housing, roads, industrial complex etc to give strength and other characteristics to the structure increasing its lifespan. Though niche, the construction chemical market is witnessing rapid growth with the construction industry gaining momentum due to increased urbanization and focus of the government on infrastructure development.”

Technical sessions at the two-day conference covered important topics like “accelerating implementation of Infrastructure projects for future in India”; “key drivers in construction chemicals for industrial construction”; “addressing the challenges of commercial and residential construction”, etc. The papers were presented by speakers from prominent construction chemicals companies like Ardex Endura, Assess Buildchem, BASF, Cera Chem, Euclid Chemicals, Fairmate Chemicals, Incorez, Sika, to name a few.
The highlight of the conference was an interactive panel discussion on “Building a future based on Infrastructure”, in which the panelists included Ramesh Joshi, Sr. VP and Head Business Development, RMC Division – Ultratech Cement; Seshadri Srinivasaih, Advisor at BASF India; Arijit Basu, Independent Advisor; and V. Suresh, President at Good Governance India Foundation, and Chairman IGBC. Sengupta, General Secretary - CCMA & President at STP Limited concluded the conference by thanking the sponsors, delegates and CCMA members. The conference was attended by key stakeholders in the construction industry.
