UP unveils ₹250-cr twin towers in Varanasi

Twin Towers in Varanasi
After the state government approved the design of the ground+18 floor twin buildings of the proposed integrated commissioner complex (ICC), agencies have now hastened the process of preparing a detailed project report (DPR) for the mega project. To be executed on a private-public partnership (PPP) model, the project will cost ₹250 crore and will accommodate 44 government offices, while the other will be totally commercial to generate revenue for the project and maintenance. The state has already appointed the architect for the ICC project and preparation of the initial design. Divisional commissioner Deepak Agrawal informed that as per the final design, each building of the twin-tower will be ground+18 floors and each tower will have a double floor basement parking facility. The commercial tender for the construction of the buildings will be floated shortly after the finalization of DPR, for which a Nagpur based firm, has been appointed as transactional advisor. The towers will come up in an existing commissioner office compound spread over 6.44 acres of which 3 acres will be utilized for construction purposes. The first skywalk of the state will be at the top floor of the twin buildings.
