Queen Huh Memorial Park
In a major boost to infrastructure in and around Ayodhya, South Korea and state government in UP in a joint venture have decided to build 'Queen Huh Memorial Park' in Ayodhya on an area stretching across 10,000 sq mt. The project, a key one in the efforts to strengthen cultural exchanges for which the move gains momentum after a study by the Korean government showed that flood waters from the Sarayu River could inundate most of the original site area of 55,765 square metres once in five years. The state government hopes this would make both locations — the museum and the memorial — hot tourist attractions and as of now the state is awaiting designs from the Korean side and the construction will begin in three months as Korean President is visiting India this July with a high-powered delegation from Korea, additional chief secretary and director-general of UP Tourism, Awanish Kumar Awasthi said.
