NHAI awards ₹356 cr Kazhakkoottam flyover project

The construction of Kazhakkoottam flyover is all set to start very shortly with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has already finalized tender for construction of the project. As a matter of fact, NHAI has given letter of acceptance to the lowest bidder, a joint venture firm Rameshwar Dayal and Son-Cherian Varkey Construction Company (RDS-CVCC) for the project entailing an investment of ₹356 crore. In this connection RDS-CVCC has turned out to be the lowest bidder by quoting ₹195 crore for civil construction alone and it is inking an agreement with the contractor and start work within two months. The 2.71-km flyover, which begins near Kazhakkoottam police station, will end near Technopark with be 21 metres wide and will be supported by around five pillars in every 30 metres. The Kazhakkoottam flyover is a standalone project, and is not part of the Kazhakkoottam-Karode national highway project for which transport ministry has given approval when a proposal submitted to it during the inauguration of works of Kazhakkoottam-Karode national highway.
