THM Huade Hydraulics: Permanent Magnet Signal Motors & Piston Pumps
What are the products and technologies offered by THM?
THM specializes in piston pump technology, especially in open-loop and closed-loop systems. It offers ranges that go up to 280 bar, and others that reach up to 450 bar peak pressure, besides gearboxes and travel motors for track drives.
We manufacture quality components that increase the efficiency of our customer’s machines – a process that starts from the design phase to production, and extends to after-sales services. During the design phase, we work one-on-one with the machine manufacturers to ensure that the selections they make are correct and if any customization is needed.
We are targeting AWPs (Aerial Working Platforms) as the machines in this segment are transitioning to electric. We are also very strong in cranes and excavators.
What are the company’s manufacturing capabilities?
As a backward integrated company, we have our own casting plant, and two manufacturing facilities in India, and are setting up another backward integrated plant in the NCR region. It has been designed in Germany by their experts. Backward integration ensures that we can ensure consistent deliveries of the right quality of products, starting with their metallurgy.
In terms of testing and certifications for some of the mining machinery components that we provide, we offer 8EX certificates, which are anti-explosive, besides C certifications and ISO certifications. We have completed PPAP 3 and are now moving towards PPAP 2 as well. In terms of quality, we've been around since 1979, and have honed our skills, and improved the processes and procedures over the years. We have a team of about 121 engineers across India, and we make sure that downtimes are prevented or minimized.
What are the company's strengths?
We have started a new vertical called THM SEAD (Servo Electrical and Automation Division), which is not just focusing on mobile and construction machinery, but also on plastic injection moulding machinery. We have recently launched and delivered our own series of Servo Motors and Servo Drives.
For the Construction Equipment segment, including Aerial Working Platforms and Road Sweepers, we have the ability to design the logic and get involved from the design phase of manufacturing the EV machine. We can provide a full kit to convert machines to EV. All that the customer has to provide is the fabrication and the lithium-ion battery. We can also supply linear electric actuators, DC brushless motors, as well as the logic and design of the controller, which is the brain of the machine.
All the processes and procedures we've implemented have stemmed from what we learned over the years because there was no guidebook on how to start a hydraulics business. My father started the company on a loan of ₹40,000 and grown it through partnerships and expansions.
We are constantly striving to deliver quality products based on OEMs feedback from their customers. We have moved to BS 5 and transitioned from fixed gear technology/fixed displacement pump technology to variable displacement pump technology. I believe this will lead to energy savings across many kinds of machines, especially off-highway machines that contribute a lot to carbon emissions in India. As we are running out of fossil fuels, it is about time we made this change. So, I'm really glad we did that as a company.
The design of the controller logic, along with the integration of actuators and DC brushless motors, is a significant part of our segment. We also have electro-hydraulic actuators where higher force is required and are making more advancements in them.
