Tata Hitachi Machines Delivering Lifelong Value

How do you assess the current backhoe loader market following the transition to CEV Stage V norms?
The backhoe loader market in India continues to remain one of the most high-volume segments within the construction equipment industry, owing to its versatility across applications such as road construction, utilities, irrigation, and rural development. As the backhoe loader transitioned to CEV 5 norms in 2025, demand was impacted adversely, with the market size of 42,000 units down by 10% Y-O-Y compared to 46,500 units in FY24-25.However, at Tata Hitachi, we are witnessing steady demand where mechanization is gaining momentum. Our SHINRAI range, including the SHINRAI Prime, has seen strong acceptance due to its reliability, ease of operation, and compelling value proposition.
While the backhoe loader segment is mature, consistent investment in infrastructure and rural development is expected to sustain demand, ensuring that backhoe loaders remain a key contributor to industry volumes.
What are the key technological innovations and performance enhancements that distinguish the SHINRAI range in today's backhoe loader market?

Key features include improved hydraulic systems for faster cycle times, optimized engine performance for better fuel efficiency, and ergonomically designed cabins that enhance operator comfort and reduce fatigue.
Customers are increasingly valuing machines that are robust, easy to maintain, and capable of delivering consistent performance in diverse and demanding site conditions — areas where SHINRAI backhoe loaders have established a strong reputation.
With the transition to CEV 5 emission norms, our SHINRAI range of backhoe loaders are designed to deliver cleaner performance with reduced emissions while maintaining high efficiency.
We are also focusing on improving fuel efficiency, extending component life, and reducing maintenance requirements, thereby minimizing environmental impact over the lifecycle of the machine.
These efforts ensure that sustainability is not just about compliance, but also about delivering long-term value to customers.
How do you ensure that customers derive maximum value throughout the lifecycle of their backhoe loaders?

InSite, the in-built telematics suite on our SHINRAI machines also gives suitable alarms and alert on the machine for any issue reported.
We also ensure high machine uptime through our extensive service network and easy availability of genuine parts. Additionally, lifecycle solutions such as Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and refurbishment programs help customers extend machine life and optimize their investment. This holistic approach ensures that customers derive sustained value over the entire lifecycle of the machine.
As customer expectations continue to evolve, how are you strengthening your aftermarket support while positioning for future growth in the backhoe loader segment?
Tata Hitachi offers a comprehensive aftermarket ecosystem to ensure seamless customer support and maximize machine uptime. Field Diagnostic Vans (FDVs) provide quick on-site service, minimizing downtime and ensuring faster issue resolution, while our extensive dealer network ensures the ready availability of genuine parts across the country. In addition, digital tools and telematics are increasingly being leveraged to enable predictive maintenance, helping customers improve machine uptime and operational efficiency.Looking ahead, the outlook for the backhoe loader segment remains stable and positive, supported by continued investments in infrastructure development, rural connectivity and urbanization.
Our SHINRAI range will continue to address the requirements of both value-conscious and performance-driven customers, particularly in emerging markets. Going forward, we will focus on enhancing productivity, integrating digital technologies and delivering greater value through lifecycle solutions.
