Tata Hitachi Launches New Excavators

Siddharth Chaturvedi, Head-Marketing, stated, "We are looking to deliver complete value to customers across the construction and mining segments. Our new Zaxis series of Excavators- 890 (89 tons), 490 (49 tons) EX 350 (35 tons) are testimony to the same. We had exhibited these products earlier at bauma India. Looking to build up our space in sustainable operations, we have displayed our new 3-ton battery operated mini-excavator and our new 20-ton electric excavator which operates through cable power, and has mast with pulley fixed on the top to power the excavator from the grid."
To make its excavators more versatile in their applications, Tata Hitachi has introduced a range of attachments under its Mangum series which includes hydraulic rock breakers, solar panels, orange peel grabs, slurry pumps, and trench-cutters.
The company also launched its ‘Reliable Orange' campaign. “This is aimed at benefitting our customers by making available durable products that give reliable performance for longer periods. This, along with our complete pre-and post-sales support, maintenance, and parts supply across the products lifecycle, will surely increase their trust in our brand and have a good brand recall in the highly competitive excavator business," said Chaturvedi.

Tata Hitachi excavators are manufactured at its Jamshedpur facility. Its maintenance packages include general / annual maintenance, contracts, parts supply at site, refurbishment of machines by Tata Hitachi dealers at their refurbishment centers.
“We have an active fleet of 1,20,000 excavators in India, serviced by 50 dealers through their 300 outlets and 15 dealer vendors. Ensuring product uptime is important for us. In fact, we adhere strictly to our product uptime guarantee to the customers for at least 70% of our machines working on mining sites.”
The company has increased its presence in the backhoe loader business through its 55 hp, 74 hp and 100 hp (driven by Japanese Kubota Engines) Shinrai backhoe loaders, which are also exported to South and East African markets.
Chaturvedi informed, “We are also building up market presence in wheel loaders segment. We are the first company in India to offer our patented, TL 340, 3-ton and ZW 225, 5-ton hydrostatic wheel loaders for the Indian market, which can deliver almost 15% fuel saving cost. Given our joint venture with Hitachi, we can offer wheel loaders in the higher payload variants from Japan."
