From Milling to Compaction: Wirtgen India Displays Complete Equipment Portfolio at Excon

Commenting on the strategic importance of the Indian market and EXCON, Dr. Volker Knickel, CEO of Wirtgen Group, said, “EXCON is a key platform for us to showcase our technology and commitment to customers. India is not just an important market, it’s a strategic manufacturing hub for the Wirtgen Group. Success here demonstrates that products developed and made in India can compete globally, meeting the highest expectations in terms of price, technology, and performance. With India’s growing infrastructure demands and a highly discerning customer base, this market not only offers growth opportunities but also serves as a benchmark for excellence in engineering, process optimisation, and sustainable construction practices.”
Primarily designed for screening coarse material in quarries and large earthmoving projects, the Kleemann MSS 1102 PRO offers high operational flexibility. Its wide range of screening media and simple adjustment of screening parameters allow the plant to be easily adapted to varying operating conditions. Key features include a mobile double-deck screening unit, the H-DRIVE diesel-hydraulic drive system, a maximum feed size of 880 × 550 × 330 mm, and digital support through SPECTIVE CONNECT.
Informed Ramesh Palagiri, Managing Director & CEO, “The Kleemann MSS 1102 PRO represents a significant milestone for us as the largest mobile scalping screen produced in India within the Kleemann range. Designed specifically for demanding quarrying and large earthmoving applications, the machine offers high throughput, operational flexibility, and ease of adjustment across varying material and site conditions. Its robust design, advanced screening technology, and digital integration through SPECTIVE CONNECT make it a reliable and productive solution for Indian operating environments.”
From the Hamm brand, the company also launched the HD 12 BG mini tandem roller, a compact yet powerful machine well suited for confined construction sites. In addition, Wirtgen India introduced 10-ton class Hamm soil roller compactors, including the HC 119i and HC 119iD models.
The Hamm HC 119i has an approximate operating weight of 11,035 kg and delivers high productivity, fuel efficiency, and operator comfort through an ergonomically designed cabin. The HC 119iD, developed for heavy infrastructure applications, features an operating weight of 11,180 kg and a static linear load of 29.1 kg/cm. Powered by an Ashok Leyland CEV-V-compliant engine, the machine also incorporates an ECO mode to enhance fuel efficiency.
Commenting on the Hamm range, Ramesh Palagiri said,“These machines are part of the broader Hamm HC Series, known for modern, environmentally compliant engines (CEV Stage IV/V in India), intuitive operation, and high compaction performance across a wide range of earthmoving applications. We have already started production of the small tandem roller for export and are now launching it in the domestic market. In fact, all these machines are developed and built in India, keeping Indian operating conditions in mind.”
The company primarily operates across road construction, road rehabilitation, and surface mining segments. While the mining sector continues to perform strongly with robust demand for surface miners and crushers, the road construction segment has witnessed a slowdown over the past 18 months due to fewer project awards. However, the segment is expected to see a revival from 2026 onwards.
