PALFINGER Unveils PK 480 TEC Truck Mounted Articulated Crane

PALFINGER AG launched PK 480 TEC truck mounted articulated boom crane to meet the rising demand for material handling for waste treatment and also for urban infrastructure construction and maintenance and related tasks. A prominent feature for ensuring stability during work is the outriggers as the 'leveling assistant', which simplifies the stabilizing process by optimally leveling the vehicle. The process itself takes place through pulsating moments of the stabilizing cylinders. With one level movement on the remote control optimal leveling is achieved by pulsating the movements of the stabilizers. In order to achieve the best possible vehicle inclination for each individual application, the operator can choose between two versions: steep position or HPSC.

The PK 480 TEC’s continuous slewing system for unrestricted movement enables faster unloading as the crane can be slewed to a different position using a short route, such that it can work in any direction without repositioning the vehicle.

The crane features polygonal or teardrop shaped P-profile boom — a signature feature of Palfinger TEC range of truck cranes. The torsion resistant profile shape ensures a torsionally stable, and at the same time, lighter extension boom system. This results in a lower crane weight with higher performance. The extension boom slides better, which also means lower maintenance and more efficient use in every day work.

Alexander Susanek, COO, PALFINGER AG informed, “PK 480 TEC will be available in India with a choice of truck chassis by the owner. The mounting of the crane and integration with the truck chassis will be done by our company. As regards whether the truck crane’s load chart will be derated, we will strictly adhere to our own operating standards without compromising on safety and performance."

Furthermore, the team will grant access and fast response to the specifics of the Indian market while keeping the consistency with PALFINGER processes. And will be closely integrated into PALFINGER’s global engineering network, especially with the Technology Center in Köstendorf, Austria.

India is a strategic growth market for PALFINGER. It is expanding its local partner network, optimizing the supply chain, and pursuing plans for setting up a local production facility. This will enable PALFINGER to meet the growing demand for lifting solutions directly on-site and further strengthen its presence in the region.
