What is your outlook on the growth of the construction equipment industry in the wake of the government’s focus on infrastructure development?

We are very optimistic on the continued positive development of infrastructure in India. This has definitely resulted in demand for equipment within the construction industry. Customers are also positively looking at quality equipment rather than going for the cheapest. The most important is that, in addition to the growth in the industry, there is healthy growth of positive demands from Indian contractors for quality and efficient machines.

The market is maturing from basic equipment requirement to a more sophisticated one; What technical improvisations are you carrying out in your existing products?

Wacker Neuson can trace its roots back to over 160 years. In the year 1848, the company’s story began with a blacksmith shop in Dresden, Germany. Since then, Wacker Neuson innovations have set standards and changed processes in construction all over the world. Wacker Neuson stands for “German engineering”, which means reliable, high quality solutions.

The best example is the Wacker Neuson “zero emission” series. The emission-free product innovations from Wacker Neuson stand for exceptional operator and environmental protection without any sacrifice in performance. In particular, during indoor applications, the advantages are obvious. Two battery-powered earth rammers, the 803 dual power mini-excavator, an electrically-powered wheel loader and an electrically-powered track dumper are part of this ever expanding series. No other manufacturer offers such a comprehensive range of self-contained electrically-powered construction machines and equipment.

Strong after-sales services and spare parts availability are also becoming one of the key selling points. How is your company strengthening its positions in these areas?

Wacker Neuson around the world including India, prides itself in its customer care programmes. Our work starts “after the sale”. Besides sound advice on the optimal solutions that best fits our customers’ needs for certain applications, we offer repair and maintenance as well as training for both dealers and customers. Among end-users, our training programmes have been well-received and are popular. Training includes among others, ‘how to use and maintain machines’ in the most efficient manner. In the arena of “Concrete Solutions”, we offer expert advice and support from a team of concrete specialists that can even manage complete projects.

In addition, Wacker Neuson is fast and reliable when it comes to providing spare parts to customers across India.

What would be the company’s focus during its participation at bauma Conexpo India 2016?

Wacker Neuson will be exhibiting its broad portfolio of products and services at the bC India. The exhibition will be an excellent opportunity to present our products to customers and potential customers interactively. Visitors will also be able to test some of the products at our stand. We believe that the face-to-face dialogue and the chance to actually experience the equipment in action are very important.

In addition, we want to further strengthen our brand awareness in India. Visitors will see that Wacker Neuson offers far more than mere products: Customers should see us as a total solutions provider rather than an equipment manufacturer selling discounts.

What products and services will be launched/displayed at the show? Kindly highlight the USPs of one of your newly introduced products?

We will place great emphasis on the Wacker Neuson Zero Tail excavator EZ17 with an operating weight of 1.7 tons during this exhibition. This mini-excavator is compact on the outside and spacious inside. On narrow job sites, as is often the case in urban areas, operators do not have to worry that they would damage the machine or block traffic while working. The rear of the compact EZ17 excavator never projects over its undercarriage. At the same time, the cabin interior is designed to be spacious and ergonomic. The excavator combines maximum maneuverability, digging force and ergonomics with the proven design expertise of Wacker Neuson. The canopy can be removed with a few hand movements, which also makes low passages no problem. It is easily reassembled at the site of operation. The lifting lugs built into the canopy roof ensure a simple and quick moving or loading of the machine via 2-point lifting bridles. Easily removable covers and the engine hood that opens far to the side ensure excellent service and maintenance accessibility.

In India, the Wacker Neuson concrete technology solutions are well-known and very popular. We will be presenting a wide selection of products from this business unit, including the IREN and IRFU high frequency internal vibrators, where the latter possesses an integrated frequency inverter. The modular HMS internal vibrators will also be presented in addition to a range of external/shutter vibrators and frequency inverters.

In addition, we will highlight the Wacker Neuson compaction equipment. Innovations in the field of compacting technology are a tradition at Wacker Neuson: A groundbreaking invention was created in 1930, when Hermann Wacker invented the first earth rammer. We will show the popular BS60-2i two-cycle rammer, which comes with separate oil lubrication: two separate tanks are filled with fuel and two-cycle oil. No pre-mixing is necessary since the oil mixing system automatically prepares the ideal mixture. Also, from the field of compaction, the reversible vibratory plates DPU2550, DPU3070 and DPU4545 with centrifugal forces of 25 to 45 kN will be on display – all made in Germany.
