Mainland Infracore Showcases High-Performance LGMG Wide-Body Trucks for India’s Mining Sector

Mainland Infracore Pvt Ltd, authorised India dealer for LGMG (Lingong Heavy Machinery Co. Ltd), is strengthening its presence in the country’s mining transport segment with its range of wide-body trucks designed specifically for high-volume OB and coal mining operations. “In large mines where daily output can reach up to 2,00,000 cubic meters, contractors need a solution that sits between multi-axle trucks and rigid dumpers. LGMG offers that ideal midway option, which is cost-effective, less capital-intensive, and extremely productive,” said Jesal Vora, Director.

The company showcased two representative models: the diesel-powered MT88 and the new energy hybrid MTH116. The MT88, LGMG’s first model introduced in India, has logged over eight years of continuous, stable performance, underscoring its durability and strong product quality. The MTH116, equipped with a dedicated mining truck battery system, offers higher vibration resistance than industry averages, making it suitable for open-pit mines, aggregate operations, and ports. These trucks are built for long life and high productivity. The MT88 has already crossed 34,000 hours in five years.

Discussing productivity gains, Vora pointed to the industry’s operational constraints. “Manpower shortage and strict DGMS norms, which limit shifts to eight hours, make high-efficiency machines essential. With LGMG dumpers, contractors can reduce manpower requirements by nearly 30% while maintaining output,” he explained.

On competitiveness, Vora stressed the brand’s technological leadership. “All machines are not made equal. LGMG is among the pioneers in wide-body trucks. We’ve taken the concept to the next level by delivering consistent quality and strong aftermarket support, which keeps customers coming back.”

LGMG’s manufacturing, based in Jinan, China, produces complete trucks and supplies genuine spare parts to maintain peak field performance. “They work with one foot in the past, one in the present, and two in the future,” said Vora highlighting the company’s R&D in battery-electric systems, hybrid powertrains, autonomous technology, and advanced charging solutions. Trials for new technologies are already underway with select customers.

Addressing emission compliance, Vora clarified that LGMG’s high-horsepower trucks, ranging from 460 HP to 770 HP, already meet global norms. “These models are not yet under India’s CEV5 category, but the norms may extend to them in 2026. Since our products are exported worldwide, they are designed to comply with European, American, and Southeast Asian standards.”

Smart equipment and digitalization are also shaping LGMG’s development roadmap. “Smart technology is often misused as a term, but real smartness lies in improving machine efficiency,” Vora said. LGMG’s R&D focuses on seamless communication between engine, pump, and transmission, enhanced troubleshooting systems, and improving operator efficiency. In the wide-body segment, LGMG is the market leader, both in numbers and in technology.

Mainland Infracore complements this with strong after-sales service, targeted at customers with deep experience in mining operations. “We ensure robust parts backup and timely troubleshooting. When selling a truck, we also assess the customer's operational capability. Around 75% of the work is done by the customers themselves, and we support the remaining 25% with LGMG’s backing,” he added. Operator and mechanic training is offered as a continuous programme, and the company plans to expand this as its customer base grows.

Reflecting on FY 2025, Vora shared that the mining sector experienced mild slowdown when the long monsoons and increased competition affected demand. The company’s sales were down by 10–15%. Looking ahead, he remains optimistic. “The strategy is simple—work hard, support loyal customers, and grow alongside them. We welcome competition and are ready to push harder for new business.”
