In the wake of Government's thrust on development of infrastructure projects (metro, refineries, wind power etc), how do you see the prospect of Indian logistics and specialized transport industry in general and Lift and Shift's business in particular?
The logistics sector in India is growing remarkably. We see new projects getting declared by the government and there are lot of potential for logistics companies in providing their services. There is delay in implementation of projects due to issues like lack of up-to-date technology, huge paper-work, absence of better road, sea and rail connectivity, etc. Expansion of existing Public Sector Units and other Greenfield projects are yet to be seen. Finances are yet to be cleared up hence these upcoming projects are stagnant. The future of the logistics sector depends not only on the continued development of infrastructure & technology but also on the attitude and determination of the service providers in adapting themselves and making optimal utilization of available resources.
With the entrance of several global market leaders of heavy-duty modular trailers and transporters in India; what impact you see in the domestic logistic market in terms of quality, productivity, safety, and total cost of ownership?
Change is inevitable. Client demands are growing every year and tough competition is seen today worldwide. It is our commitment to add value by building long-term relations based on mutual trust and operational excellence. We believe in providing cost-effective solutions, delivering faster and better, which has brought us success in an extremely competitive environment. LSPL's strong National and International presence has enabled us to perfectly execute all challenging operations so far.
Are the customers of a price-sensitive Indian market ready to pay for the technologically advanced equipment you have in your fleet?
LSPL has earned a name for handling multi-faceted jobs including those places wherein sea and rail transport is required, where we had to make by-passes, build Ro – Ro bridges/ links, create jetties for Roll-off, conduct route surveys and arrange for movements. To prosper in this business, we have to provide cost-effective solutions better than others. Hence, we bring in innovative solutions, negotiating with our vendors for their price so that our clients get the best of our services at a much reasonable costs.
What is the core strength of your company which makes it to float in the current lackluster economic condition?
Our strength lies in our experienced and efficient work force backed by precise engineering, state-of-the-art equipment and a strong commitment to the job at hand with safety being our prime concern. As part of our QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) initiative LSPL is committed to a ZERO HARM policy at all sites where it operates. All our employees and subcontractors are assured a safe working environment. A safety officer is appointed at our every site to ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Why do you think-customers would go for Lift and Shift's services when they have other options in the market? What strength/advantages do you offer through your products and services?
Customers turn to us for projects which have never been executed before in India. From the heaviest equipment transported (4500 metric tons), Installation of Ro Ro link / bridges, transporting of 125 m long column, of 1200 ton ship section with fine aligning it to a tolerance of 2 mm and even separating a heavy module into two pieces.
