Gessmann India is a 100% subsidiary of W.Gessmann GmbH established in 2017 to support the make-in-India Concept for Railways, Cranes, off highway & Construction Industry. We have a well-trained dedicated team supporting the Indian operations. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is in Peenya, Bangalore. In line with this, we assemble and produce our products locally, maintaining the same high standards. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art assembling & testing laboratory that adheres to the same protocols followed at our headquarters in Germany.
What range of products and solutions does Gessmann offer in India, and which industries are you catering to?
Gessmann operates across four major verticals globally, including in India. Our complete package of multi-axis joystick controllers and associated products are tailored to meet the needs of global brands in the electro-hydraulic and off-highway industries, including cranes etc. In India, we are primarily focusing on off-highway vehicles, particularly road construction equipment such as pavers, compactors, dozers, excavators etc. We are also foraying into the agriculture equipment market as followed globally. While the off-highway vehicle market is still in its early stages, we are leading the transition from pure hydraulics to electrohydraulics, showcasing our full range of products in this growing segment. In the crane industry, we provide support across the entire crane market. We have a strong presence in the railway sector both for main line locos & metros.
What is your outlook on the demand for construction equipment in India, and how is Gessmann preparing for this growth?
The demand for construction equipment in India is set to experience a boom in near future. This is already becoming quite evident with the rapid growth of the road construction and general construction industries.
To meet the increasing market demands, we are actively expanding our infrastructure and workforce in India. Also, having served the same customers in Europe, we are well-positioned to respond to the evolving needs of the Indian market. It is really just a matter of time before we see significant changes in India as well.
Please share your current export activities.
Currently, we are exporting railway products to countries such as Australia, Mexico, Canada, and other regions, including the Gulf and Southeast Asia. Considering the Gessmann India or the entire Gessmann has a common product quality structure, we are gearing up to support the Asian markets in near future as the product quality whether in Europe or India is one and the same and in future Gessmann India would be a major Global manufacturing base.
