N.G.Bangur
"We, at DOZCO consider IMME as a respectable platform and a dedicated fair for mining sector in the country. As in previous editions, this time also we would display our main mining equipment like Bull Dozer, Wheel Loaders, Tire Handlers, Rock Breakers and OEM after market spare parts at the show and are expecting large numbers of visitors. IMME is helpful for sharing the information with the customers about our new and complete range of products with after sales and service facilities. The most important tool is that it helps in sharing the working information of our products in the Indian market," says Mr. N.G. Bangur, Director, DOZCO in an interview with Maria R.

Could you please give us an overview of Dozco progression and its important business areas serving the mining & construction industry?
The venture started in 1983 as a trading concern dealing in General Engineering items with a focus on Mining Machinery Spare Parts by the determined Bangur Brothers at Dhanbad followed by an establishment at Bilaspur, & places with high concentration of mines, grew momentously within three decades in both shape & size. Currently, DOZCO is the biggest importer of spare parts in the country and covering the major market share.

In the course of three decades, DOZCO grew with its branches and warehouses at strategically located places, and have now 19 branch offices with a work force of 600+ people across the country and still continuing. It also has unique training centers for Sales and Service Engineers in Dhanbad and Visakhapatnam. Spare parts business being the forte of the company, it has also entered into the Equipment business in 2003.

DOZCO has made its presence very effectively in Coal and Iron Ore belts, Cement plants, Zinc and Marble mines, and few others in the mining sector. Whereas in the construction industry our essential business areas are, road and irrigation projects, land development and real estate.

How do you see the emerging market demand trend in the mining & construction equipment sector? What would be the focus of your company's participation at International Mining and Machinery Exhibition (IMME) India's largest trade fair dedicated to the mining industry to be held in Kolkata in December, this year?
From DOZCO perspective, mining sector has an excellent potential to grow in the emerging market of India in comparison to the construction industry. For example, there is huge deficit in demand and supply of Coal. The demand of Coal will be almost 2 Billion Tons by 2020, and presently we produce just 500 Million Tons.Likewise, we expect good growth in the mining of other Minerals too, which may ultimately lead to the good growth in the Equipment business and after market spare parts.

However, in the current market scenario the delays in the new upcoming and running projects caused due to the financial crunch and some government policies are not encouraging. Though, few government companies are still going on as per their schedule and continuing the procurement process.

DOZCO consider IMME as a respectable platform and a dedicated fair for Mining sector in the country. We will keep focussing on the Mining segment with our main mining equipment like, Bull Dozer, Wheel Loaders, Tire Handlers, Rock Breakers and OEM after market spare parts, which are already proven with the excellent performance in different subsidiaries of Coal India.

What will be the products or services to be launched or displayed?
DOZCO products range will consist of mining equipment and spare parts like, KAWASAKI Wheel Loader (224 to 720 HP), YANMAR Excavator (19.2 to 73.5 HP), SHANTUI Bull Dozers (130 to 320 HP), MANITOU Tyre Handler (121 to 175 HP), GEHL Skid Steer Loader (24 to 99 HP), EDT DIPL Rock Breaker (0.3 to 4 Ton Operating wt.), Indeco Rock Breaker (0.16 to 11.5 Ton Operating wt.), Under Carriage, GET's and few others.

Products at IMME

Do you think that participation at IMME would help in promoting company's marketing objectives and vivificate a new dimension to its business areas?
IMME being the dedicated largest fair for Mining in India will always be beneficial up to some extend. DOZCO are expecting large numbers of visitors from the Mining segment and consider it as a good common platform for all the customers from different part of the country.

From marketing point of view, IMME is helpful for sharing the information with the customers about our new and complete range of products with after sales and service facilities. The most important tool is it helps in sharing the working information of our products in the Indian market.

A word about Dozco world-class service solutions and marketing network.
DOZCO believes in quality product at competitive cost, which ultimately leads to customer satisfaction. Therefore, in order to reduce the equipment downtime DOZCO has made its presence in 19 different locations in country with tremendous after sales and world-class service support.

DOZCO will keep focussing on the same, as we believe "Customers are our most valuable assets."

Currently, there is a big gap between supply and demand of construction & mining equipment; what are the initiatives at your end for the value added services the company is offering, to capture major market share?
Indeed, the gap is huge between the demand and supply and we hope that the government will take initiative steps, like new investments, which might help to bridge the gap.

DOZCO's approach to the Indian market is to launch innovative and environment-friendly products with low operating cost. We will keep encouraging our customers with an outstanding after sales and service support.

DOZCO has some future plans to enter into manufacturing during their 30th year of celebration.

To sum up, DOZCO's objective is that "Our clients make money out of our products and services" and building sincere and friendly relationship with our clients.

Lack of trained machine operators is a matter of great concern today; how do you address this issue?
The losses occurred due to untrained operators are never accounted for, if we do so than the cost of running an institute to train these operator will be considerably low. Therefore, in our opinion an individual equipment manufacturer must run a workshop to train the operators and also by producing a user-friendly machines.
