How important are protective coatings for buildings? Please elaborate on anti-carbonation coatings and unique wood coatings offered by Remmers.
Protective coatings for building are vital. It needs to be multi-functional and possess a variety of attributes to truly protect a concrete substrate. Today, protective coatings must be waterproof, possess a high resistance to wind driven rain, protect against chloride penetration, be carbonation resistant, allow water vapor diffusion (breathable), have a high UV resistance and have aesthetic value.

Anti carbonation coating is a type of protective coating which is formulated to confer long-term protective and decorative properties to concrete and masonry surfaces. Remmer's anti-carbonation coating is water-based, 100% pure acrylate coating which is plasticizer-free, having very high solid contents and is CO2 inhibiting and water repellent in nature. It is an environment-friendly green product which is non-yellowing and weather resistant and provides good adhesion to old and new fair faced concrete and also restored concrete.

All of our wood preservatives are certified as extremely effective, safe, ecologically harmless and VOC compliant, giving protection against UV rays, Moisture, Insects/termites, Fungus, Algae, Blue stain and enhancing the aesthetics by imparting a decorative effect to the wood.

What are the trends in façade and building restoration sector? Also tell us about the USP of your offerings in terms of sustainability, energy efficiency, environment- and user-friendly, and so forth.
Now a days, the importance of facades has increased as more people are showing interest in having an impressive and unique outer look of their building. Increasing awareness about energy saving and green building inspires many developers and architects to innovatively plan the facades to keep the building thermo-static, thereby reducing the green house effect and also restricting intensive use of AC. Many people now install solar panels on their roof or balcony as an alternative source of power for their house.

Rajiv Gandhi (Bandra-Worli) Sea Link Project has emerged as one of the most unique bridge designs and is a landmark structure in the commercial & entertainment capital of India. The Sea Link is a big relief for the common man of Mumbai who had to spend around an hour daily to go either side by crossing the mahim causeway which was the only link connecting western suburbs to island city of Mumbai. This initiative has caused considerable saving in travel time due to increased speed and reduced delays at intersections at existing roads. The ease in driving has reduced mental tension and overall improvement in the quality of life of the people of Mumbai.
