How do you see the progress being made by India’s CE industry amidst the growing infra development, global integration, evolving regulatory frameworks, and emerging investments?
This is a multifaceted question with many developments. In terms of growth, after a period of large unabated growth, last year and this year, the growth has been low. This was largely expected by the manufacturers as we had an election and also an emission norm change. We also had very heavy rains all over the country.
The new BSV and the CE V2 norms which have mandated cleaner engines, cabins that are ROPS/FOPS certified, mandatory air conditioning, seat belt anchorage certification, limits on noise both inside the cab and drive-by, and a wider field of vision and indirect field of vision — are similar to the features present in machines produced by developed countries
Another visible progress in the market is that customers are asking for more value-addition in terms of service and uptime of the machine. Now, many corporate customers in the mining segment are looking to migrate to a cost per hour basis rather than an outright asset purchase. Another area the market will move to is refurbishment of machines by the OEMs which will reduce the steel production footprint.
How is your company expanding its global footprint, strengthening exports, and integrating international technologies to stay competitive?
ARX is extremely transparent on selecting the right machine for the right application. We offer very reasonable pricing for the value delivered and we even offer to operate the machine for the customer.
What initiatives has ARX taken to promote inclusivity, diversity, and skill development within the workforce?
ARX works with a very open culture which does not discriminate in any way. We have a somewhat ‘flat’ hierarchy and focus on inducting batches of freshers from all around the country to multitask and get all-around exposure to various aspects of machine building. Since we work on numerous greenfield projects, the opportunity for young people to rapidly learn a lot is huge.How is your company leveraging digitalisation, AI, and automation to develop intelligent machines?
ARX has a modular approach to design. We already run a lot of mechatronics on our machine. We have the concept demonstrators completed for CVT drivelines, autonomous emergency braking system, and electric components, and also have machines which are ready to adopt Laser Tracking devices for grading and drilling.What key innovations or highlights from your EXCON 2025 showcase your commitment to sustainability, service excellence, and global competitiveness?
Our Excon 2025 showcase comprises of four models of motor graders, a drill, a reachstacker with a CVT driveline and an underground mine personnel carrier.
