Nippon Paint Showcases Advanced Coil Coating Solutions for Africa at Industry Conference

Nippon Paint highlighted its advanced coil coating technologies and future growth strategy for Africa at the Coil Coating & Sandwich Panel Conference 2026, held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

Addressing industry leaders and stakeholders at the event, Subash Gaijes Selvaraj, President – Industrial Coatings, Nippon Paint India, shared insights into the evolving requirements of the coil coating industry and the increasing demand for high-performance coating solutions to support Africa’s growing infrastructure, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

During his presentation, Selvaraj outlined key industry challenges and opportunities, including the need for enhanced UV and weather resistance, superior corrosion protection for coastal and industrial environments, improved scratch and mechanical damage resistance, performance-to-cost optimisation, and sustainable coating technologies that meet evolving environmental requirements.

He also highlighted Nippon Paint’s focus on research and development, particularly in non-metallic substrate coatings and value-added technology innovations aimed at improving product performance and expanding application possibilities.

Commenting on the industry outlook, Selvaraj noted that rapid infrastructure and industrial development across emerging markets is driving demand for coating solutions that offer durability, sustainability, and long-term performance. He emphasised that innovation and customer collaboration will continue to play a key role in shaping the next generation of coating technologies.

The conference brought together coating manufacturers, steel producers, technology providers, and industry stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, innovations, and growth opportunities in the coil coating and sandwich panel sectors.
