Welspun World Inaugurates New Ductile Iron Pipe Plant to Support Jal Jeevan Mission and Water Infrastructure Projects

Strengthening India’s infrastructure and water management capabilities, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri C.R. Patil, inaugurated Welspun World’s new Ductile Iron (D.I.) Pipe manufacturing unit. The state-of-the-art facility marks a major expansion of Welspun World’s presence in the infrastructure and water sectors and underscores its commitment to national development priorities.

The new D.I. Pipe unit will support flagship Government of India initiatives, including Jal Shakti Abhiyan and Jal Jeevan Mission. It will supply high-quality ductile iron pipes for drinking water supply and sanitation projects across both urban and rural regions, helping improve water accessibility and strengthen long-term sustainability across the country.

Speaking on the occasion of this inauguration, Hon’ble Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri CR Patil said , “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji Ensuring water security is one of the top priorities of the Government of India. Through the Jal Shakti Abhiyan and the Jal Jeevan Mission, we are working tirelessly to ensure water security and provide safe and sufficient drinking water to every household. These initiatives are not only improving the quality of life today but are also laying a strong foundation for a water-secure future for generations to come. Active participation of industry and institutions is crucial to strengthen these efforts and turn the vision of sustainable water management into a reality.”
