URC Commence Work on Line 3 of Chennai Metro Phase II
URC Construction Pvt. Ltd. has commenced construction work on Metro Line-3 of Chennai Metro Phase II with a traditional Pooja ceremony held at Thousand Lights Metro Crossover under Package UG03. The construction, which includes diaphragm wall (D-wall) work, has already begun at Thousand Lights Metro Crossover using a Trench cutter. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) subcontracted the construction to URC after being awarded the contract by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) under Package UG03-RT01 for ₹1328.89 crore. The project involves the complete civil construction of five underground stations and partial work on two stations, with a deadline of 1725 days (4.72 years).
