UltraTech Cement Inducts India’s First PM E-DRIVE-Certified Electric Heavy-Duty Truck

UltraTech Cement Limited has inducted India’s first PM E-DRIVE-certified electric heavy-duty truck into its logistics operations, marking a significant step in sustainable freight movement. The electric truck has been supplied by Montra Electric, the e-M&HCV business vertical of the Murugappa Group.

A pioneer in green logistics within the cement sector, UltraTech was among the first companies in India to deploy CNG trucks in 2021, followed by LNG trucks in 2022 and electric trucks in 2024. The company continues to work closely with logistics partners to transition from diesel to cleaner fuel alternatives.

Currently, UltraTech operates over 540 CNG trucks, 60 LNG trucks and more than 15 electric trucks across 17 manufacturing units. The induction of PM E-DRIVE-certified electric heavy-duty trucks further strengthens UltraTech’s commitment to building a cleaner, more efficient and future-ready logistics ecosystem.
