Sikkim gets Rs.1247-cr road projects

Adding to the existing road network of Sikkim, a beautiful state in the foothills of Himalaya, Union Transport minister has recently launched four road projects in the area and also laid the foundation stones for all of them. The state highways in question, once completed would connect the state capital with Singtam, Ravangla, Pakyong, and Rangpo and will also go a long way in improving the economic activities of the area, thereby injecting a major booster to the socio economic conditions of the masses, said official sources, claiming that the projects will be developed by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Company (NHIDCL) entailing an investment of Rs.1247 crore.
